Shanghai Maternal & Baby Centre

The Maternal & Baby Centre was set up by the Shanghai Maternal & Baby Health Care Institute and the Shanghai Women Health Care Institute.

It has three departments, a newborn swimming room, a newborn massage room and a room for pregnant women.

The Shanghai Maternal & Baby Centre has large windows facing the busy street in central Shanghai, revealing its “secrets” to the passers-by, the special swimming and massage services for the newborn babies.

Traditional Chinese theory believes the newborn babies should be wrapped tightly.

Shanghai Maternal & Baby Centre aims to give newborn babies more space and freedom and displays their treatments as entertainment for citizens through the windows.
